Theological College is located in the heart of Washington, D.C., across the street from The Catholic University of America and The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and just steps away from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The national hub for many Catholic organizations, Washington is also a city where different cultures and religious backgrounds blend.
Myriad formative ministerial opportunities are available to seminarians, especially through the pastoral placement program, which offers mentored experiences in parishes, prisons, hospitals, campus ministry, and services for the handicapped and marginalized, to name just a few. Seminarians are voluntarily involved in many social outreach initiatives, from bringing meals to the homeless to fundraising for area charities such as the DC Diaper Bank.
The city’s cultural richness provides seminarians with various educational, social, and recreational offerings, from concerts on the National Mall and at the Kennedy Center to the Smithsonian Institution’s 17 world-class museums, galleries, gardens, and zoo. With a subway stop on campus, seminarians have easy access to all destinations in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia metro range.
